Craig Parker aka The Farmer
Craig - in typical gloryhunting style - holes the putt which clinched the 2009 Beve Trophy for Team Rush.
And here he shows the swing that launched a thousand 6 irons.....
My Beve Profile Name Craig Parker aka The Farmer
Favourite Beve Moment Sinking the winning putt on my first ever Beve outing. Unfortunately stealing the glory from my team mate Brian Lironi but ensuring bragging rights for Team Rush.
Worst Beve Moment Shanking my ball into a bunker on the morning round at Dullatur after being specifically told by my partner, Scott Thomson, to play sensibly and chip the ball out onto the fairway for a simpler approach shot to the green. I suspect this is where it all started to go wrong.
Your Best Shot in the Beve A peach of a five iron coming up the 18th on the afternoon at Dullatur with the match at all square. A rather scuffed shot off the tee left me relying on my team mate to clinch the hole. I pulled out my five iron and hit a sweet shot down the middle of the fairway, about 180 yards, landing just shy of the green. I think the sight of that shot sent fear into the hearts of the opposition and started their eventual demise.
Best Shot by an opponent Can’t actually remember any – was too scared of killing someone on the other fairway with my notorious slice.
Toughest Beve Opponent Stephen McGill – The morning round at Dullatur. This man could do no wrong. I don’t know if it was down to the alcohol from the previous night but something was giving this man Tiger Woods qualities (without the string of buxom beauties)
Favourite Beve Story The story of Stephen McGill (again), my opponent for the first round, deciding that after a night on the piss and an even later night at the casino the best option would be to stay awake until the tee off. Only an individual of questionable sanity would contemplate that.
Sum up the Beve in one word Golf-based-alcoholism (not really one word I know but sums it up pretty well)
