Dave became the first ever Welshman to play in the Beve last year but this is not the only record that Dave holds. He stands proud as the man to have played the fewest amount of golf holes in the Beve ever, 26 to be factual. After going down in his debut Greensomes 6&5 to motormouths Goldie and Montgomery, he managed to avenge the embarrassment by winning his afternoon game again 6&5 in the right direction to turn round the biggest comeback since Lee /Tonner, E steamrollered the Dambusters in Darley 2008.
 
This led Dave to a debut Trophy win and kept the tradition of players playing out of 20 Trongate thinking that the Beve Trophy is easy,(Apart from Captain Tonner that is). Often seen out being carried to victory by a work colleague, he does though have occasional flashes of brilliance on the golf course that make him to one to watch, sometimes though this just applies when you are on the other fairway and he is taking a swoosh with the trusty  'Big Dog' , Foreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
