A new competitor in 2009, PC Hughes brought some much needed authority to the Beve Trophy. A fan of wonderful music and probably the only Beve competitor to have seen Louise Redknapp live in concert, Gavin was on the golf course at least four days a week between January and July to hone his skills. As a Partick Thistle fan, he’s be a useful man to have in your team at 6 down with 7 to play as he clearly enjoys chasing lost causes. I don't pay attention to what my opponent does.  All this chummy stuff, going round together, inviting each other to your weddings.  Wasn't like that in my day.  That's why these weak Europeans don't win majors.
